I wish more museums would do this. Its beautiful.

Well organized by centuries. I really like the updated picture descriptions. Can you also add the date of each painting?

I have been to this gallery twice - most recently a few months ago. I have been to most of the worlds top galleries 2X and I believe the National Gallery provides an unmatched experience - mainly due to the audio commentary it provides (for a small fee - I think GBP 3 per set). This is the best commentary among all museums in my opinion. i also think that the collection is quite broad so you can pick from a lit of choices if that is your approach to see a museum. wished the museum allowed this for purchase with the app so that it plays with the picture (when such commentary exists) as I will be happy to pay as much as $20 annually for this. Last but not the least I wish the information about each picture was as detailed as the one in the museum and showed up as a pop up on the same screen as the picture and it showed the actual dimensions of the picture. The museum could also offer true to size reprints for sale with a click of a button. Saurabh Lawate USA

Other great museums should take a closer look at this app and ... just follow this fantastic example of respectful and professional approach. The quality of downloadable high resolution images is impeccable. I highly recommend this app to anyone with high aesthetic and visual expectations.

Thousands of paintings with HD version downloadable.

I was always thrilled with this app, but disliked its UI, which felt rather gaudy given its content. With this latest update though, that is no longer the case, and the interface looks sleek and unobtrusive. The app itself also loads noticeably faster than before (on iPad Air), leaving little room for improvement, if any. Well done!

I ordered to other apps and got the Baroque instead!!

A truly amazing app. Just spend some time looking at the works of art. I love the fact you can download an HD version of any painting. Consider that to send 1 postcard from your holiday will cost you more. Relax. Zone out and enjoy.

Oi, its well good, wot? Innit, mate.

The national gallery is too large to see and walk in a day, a week or a month. This app lets me see it little by little, stop, read more and go back. One day I will go back to the national gallery and I will be in better shape to know exactly what I want to see, with a deeper understanding and knowledge, and meanwhile I can see the paintings anytime. Enjoy!

Great quality pics, wonderful for those of us who dont live near art galleries

It has great pictures which make you curious about the artist and subjects in some.

I love the sharp resolution of these incredible works of art.
